  4. Introduction The Event will show the patrimony of the Lebanese starting from the 20th century. The Lebanese district life at that time was more social, with a friendly atmosphere, and solidarity. All skilled workers used to come to houses and work in homes and gardens. . They used to offer their services to all the neighbourhood, at a precise time and day of the week. Back to Outline

Some JOBS The BOYAGEH: Otherwise the shoe cleaner, He used to collect all neighbourhood’s shoes to be cleaned in one house The SALLEH LASTIKO: Or the Shoemaker, who used to come in one house and collect all the neighbours’ shoes in need of repair.   6. Some JOBS The MOUJALLEKH: His job is to sharp all knives and cutting tools like scissors etc… Same visiting process like others, same day of the week for all neighbourhood The MOUKACHECH: Refurbishing the canes for chairs. Same visiting process Next Back to Outline

  7. Some JOBS The MOUNAJJED: All pillows and mattresses usually needed revamping after 1 or 2 years. Heused to come to a certain house, collect all neighbours pillows and mattresses and fix them to redistribute them to owners later on. The MOUBAYYED At the beginning of the 20th century, Stainless steel and Tefflon didn’t exist yet, kitchen equipment was in brass and usually covered with a lay of tin. Back to Outline

  9. Scenario and Scenography About 50 to 60 actors will be living and acting as if in the old days. They will be practicing their old ancient skilled jobs and will be dressed in the old Lebanese costumes, walking between people , living their old typical life. If some pedestrians are interested to live with them, they can be dressed, on site, by the Artisanat, and enjoy their way of living. People will discover the real friendly and practical way of living of the Lebanese. People, and mainly children will discover these old jobs , and if they wish, learn and practice them Next Back to Outline

Scenario and Scenography Many shows will take place during this event A precise scenario will be worked on minute by minute We are highly convinced that this event will be a great success and will be repeated every year, it will be the talk of the town and the press not only locally but also internationally.   11. Scenography for ZAITUNAY BAY one skilled labor ; 2 restaurants Some other skilled workers will be on the upper floor. Change of place every 1/2 an hour so all visitors will be able to see all labors Scenography for the SOUKS or Aishti area The Skilled workers will be acting and walking in all the area, they will change their place of work every 1 or 2 hours so all visitors are able to see all professions. The main area will be the Fakhry bey street or the walking area around Aïshti Back to Outline

  12. AWARNESS and AIM AWARNESS : What is more important than supporting the Lebanese patrimony? Titling your name with this Lebanese image, will show your interest to Lebanese values . Press is guaranteed to cover such an event. The aim is to go back to the memory of the old generation and show to the young generation how was the district life by showing them the skilled jobs of that time. They heard about them but they cannot imagine how it was. With that event they will have an image of this patrimony. This is why to be able to go into this mood and show them this patrimony, we decided to create during 2 days and 4 weeks every evening, from 6 pm to 11 pm down town in Beirut and possibly in other cities like, Byblos, Tyr, Tripoli, etc…the ambiance of a living district depicting the beginning of the century.
