  3. There are 14 official languages with 24 spoken by more than 1 million people. There are countless dialects. The primary official language is Hindi. Because there are so many languages, the lingua franca (bridge language) is English. It is used in business, education and government. Language

  5. Diffusion of Hinduism Since Hindus do not proselytize, the religion is spread when Hindus move to other parts of the world

  6. As it is most commonly used, namaste is roughly equivalent to "greetings" or "good day," in English. Namaste is a non-contact form of respectful greeting and can be used universally while meeting a person of different gender, age or social status.
