  3. Le football! 1. Listen to the song and write down all the sports that you hear. How many do you hear? 2. Now listen to the song and fill in the gaps.

Answer these questions in your book: • How do you say “she likes to play” in French? • How do you say “he likes to play” in French? • What does Sylvie like to play? • What doesn’t Christophe like to play? • What does “mais” mean? • “Faire du cheval” means to horse-ride. What is the other way to say this in French?

  5. 4. Using your French version of the song to help you, put the English translation in the correct order. I like to play basketball, I like to play cards. I like to watch the television, I like to horse ride, But I love to play football! My friend, Sylvie, She likes to play tennis. My friend, Rachid, He likes to play rugby. But they love to play football! My friend, Zineb, She doesn’t like to play tennis. My friend, Christophe, He doesn’t like to play rugby, But they love to play football!
