  2. Slander • The action or crime of making a false spoken statement damaging to a person's reputation.

  3. Effects of Slander • Lowers self-esteem/confidence. • Hurts others feelings. • Attitude is altered in a negative way. • Can effect others in a long term way if the slander continues over a period of time.

  4. Why Do People Use Slander? • A feeling of power over one another • Insecurity • Wanting attention or feeling neglected • Pervious victims of slander • A wanting of acceptance • To put someone down • Peer Pressure

  5. How To Prevent Slander • Spread awareness • Avoid websites where you can be easily targeted • Create policies that stand up against slander • Create presentations that are kid friendly so that slander awareness is started at a young age.

  6. How to Stop Slander Once it’s Already Happening • Tell someone • Confront the slanderer • If online, report or block the slanderer

  7. Slander is a hurtful, powerful, mean type of bullying. Unfortunately it is quite common, and this needs to be stopped. Let’s all stand together to end the use of slander.
