  4. PROCESS • Gather information • Reach out to interested participants • Hold a community Workshop • Establish project goals • Create Draft Streetscape Plan • Meet with community to share Streetscape Plan; Revise as needed • Final Plan Review with Community

  5. STREETSCAPE GOALS • Make sidewalks and neighborhood safer • Improve “walkability” of sidewalks • Improve appearance of district • Bring some of the Hollywood Blvd “walk of fame” glamour to east of Gower

  15. SIDEWALK PAVING Sidewalk between corners: plain concrete with colored concrete bands 8’ on center At corners, colored concrete with inlay detail

  16. SIDEWALK PAVING Sidewalk Enhancement At All Corners: Colored, scored concrete withbrass stars inlaid randomly To echo the Walk of Fame on walks west of Gower

  17. CROSSWALK PAVING Western Ave: Shall it share the “Star” pattern or should it have a different crosswalk design? “Star” pattern on all Hollywood Blvd crosswalks: 5 – point star to be developed with Integrated Paving Company designers

  18. INTERSECTION PAVING At GATEWAY Intersections install decorative asphalt paving, including at Hollywood/Gower Hollywood/Bronson to Van Ness (Freeway Gateway) Hollywood/Western Western/Franklin

  19. PEDESTRIAN LIGHTING Hollywood’s original pedestrian light fixture If fixtures are added, they would be maintained by the City through a new street lighting assessment

  20. BUS SAFETY LIGHTING Bureau of Street Lighting approved fixtures Lamp is high pressure sodium (LED to become available) Two fixtures may be placed at a bus zone and will be maintained by City staff

  21. EXISTING STREET LIGHTING • PAINT EXISTING GRAY FIXTURES BLACK TO MATCH COLOR OF LIGHT POLES ON HOLLYWOOD BLVD WEST OF GOWER • ADD HANGING FLOWER BASKETS ON HOLLYWOOD BLVD FROM BRONSON EAST TO WESTERN • PAINT LIGHT FIXTURES ON WESTERN NAVY BLUE
