  2. WHAT WILL WE SERVE? • Slaves of who or what we allow to conquer us, 2 Pet. 2:19 • Christians choose to be slaves of righteousness, Rom. 6:15-18 (11-14) • Yet, the world has captured too many Christians! 1 Cor. 15:33-34 • We must cast off the world and its darkness! Rom. 13:12-14

What is the World & Worldliness?1 John 2:15-17 • System of evil that opposes God, Gal. 1:4 (Acts 4:24) • Dominion of Satan, 2 Cor. 4:4 • To be "worldly" is to be formed and fashioned after that which opposes God and His truth, James 4:4 • Disciples of Christ are not “of this world” John 15:18-19

How does Worldliness Present Itself? • Begins in the mind (heart), Mk. 7:14-23 • Constant battle to keep mind and body pure, 2 Timothy 2:22 • Transform your mind, Rom. 12:2 (8:5-8) • Expressed through the flesh, Mark 7:21-23; 1 John 2:16 • Lust of the flesh: Sensual satisfaction • Lust of the eyes: Covetous consumption • Pride of life: Vainglory, conceit
