  2. Portraits This is a portrait of Abraham Lincoln, this portrait was originally a photo but after being printed it became what we call a portrait. This is a groundbreaking portrait because it is of a man who has had greatly impacted America.

  3. Portraits This portrait is called; Self-Portrait with Monkey by Frida Kahlo. It was said to be created with oil on canvas in 1938. This is groundbreaking because the artist was known as the “personification of national glory”, she was evolutionary, a lesbian, a rebel, a communist, a bisexual, a patriot, a lover, a wife, a disabled person, a surrealist, a divorcee, and a cross-dresser. In our society we would label her as abject.

  4. BAP Process Creating my BAP project was fairly easy. The requirements were clear and it did not take long to complete. The objective of the project was to create a portrait of a person who appears normal but when you look closer they have many flaws. I wanted to have everything normal but emphasize the mouth and the ears. So I drew the mouth large and made the teeth long and black. With the ears I drew horns coming out to make the picture look abject. I wanted my light source to come from the center so the nose area was the lightest part. And closer to the edges of the horns, face and chin were darker.

  5. BAP Reflection All in all I think I did good on the BAP portrait. I feel as if I used the mediums properly and showed values throughout the artwork. However, I feel the background of my picture could have been better if I had taken more time out to complete it. The magazine pictures I chose to direct in creating certain parts of portrait didn’t help me, so I used internet sources to be guide. I enjoyed this project and would like to have more like them.
