This experiment investigates which plant type—corn, soybeans, or oats—grows best under artificial light. I hypothesized that corn would outperform the others, as it appeared more robust. The setup involved planting equal numbers of corn, soybean, and oat seeds in a seed tray filled with potting soil under a grow light. Each plant received consistent watering. Contrary to my hypothesis, soybeans grew the fastest and tallest, followed by oats, with corn lagging behind. This experiment highlights the unexpected outcomes of growing conditions and plant responses.

Question • Which plant grows best under artificial light?
Hypothesis • My hypothesis is that Corn will grow the best, because Soy Beans looks too small.
Materials • 5 corn seeds • 5 oat seeds • 5 soy bean seeds • grow light • warm water • potting soil • 1 table spoon • three small peaces of paper to write the names of the seeds on
Procedures • Write the names of soy beans, oats, and corn on three peaces of paper • Put 6cm of potting soil in a seed tray(48cm by 32cm) • Plant 5 of each seed in the seed tray • Put a grow light 29cm over the soil • First time watering water very well • Water 3 table spoons of water every 3 day • Watch witch type of plant grows best, or worst
Conclusion I was wrong corn grew the least! Soy bean grew the best. After watching I thought Oats would grow best , but it came in 2nd. Soy beans and Oats grew very fast. Corn did not grow very fast at all. Nothing went wrong with my experiment.
