  1. OUR HISTORY Thabani Zulu and Company, affectionately called TZ& Co, was formed in 2001 under the Name UKUTHABA FINANCIAL CONSULTING. The company was officially registered as Thabani Zulu and Co in 2003 with Independent Regulatory Board of South Africa (IRBA) and the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA). The firm will always pride itself with its relevance to the needs of the clients and its responsiveness to the general community needs. As a philosophy, Thabani Zulu and Company has always targeted the youth for employment opportunities and released them after significant training and development to the broader business world to add value and use the skills generated from the firm to enhance their organizations. Our alumnae are making strides in Commerce, Government and private practice. The firm takes pride in witnessing these ex-colleagues expand their horizons. With all changes that have taken effect, the firm has retained its core values of : • Service excellence, • Social responsibility • Skills development.   3. TZ &CO. STRUCTURE The firm, headed up by Thabani Zulu has 5 Directors, a pull of competent professional staff and excellent administrative capacity. We are constantly striving to grow, careful not to do so quickly and forever mindful not to compromise our service standards

FACILITIES Thabani Zulu and Company has invested in modern facilities to ensure that our people are satisfied with the environment, our systems are state – of – the – art and our clients are well serviced. With the Head Office in Durban, we have satellite offices in Pietermaritzburg and Johannesburg. Our facilities are fully equipped with interned wireless connectivity operating on CLOUD computing to ensure that we can service our clients from anywhere in the world. As a firm we have even begun to host some of our client’s critical information in our secure facilities to ensure that they derive the same benefits as us. Although tenuous, we strive to strike a balance between the short-term survival of the firm, particularly in these challenging economic circumstances, and our growth. We always ensure that our investment in the firm and its people is geared towards sustainability into the future.

  5. TZ & CO. CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY Thabani Zulu & Co is passionate about uplifting society. Voluntary tutoring has been done for the South African Social Workers Association, teaching under-privileged pupils Accounting, Economics and Mathematics since 1991 until the program was discontinued. Time is dedicated to visit schools and offer support to the administrators and motivation to pupils. Thabani Zulu & Co has funded studies of a number of under-privileged children that aspire to succeed in life, particularly in the field of commerce. Awards ceremonies have been held to recognise teachers that are willing and dedicated in making a difference in children’s lives. Churches and community organisations are visited to offer support and make donations. Thabani Zulu & Co believes that success and prosperity, values and ethics, all have to be underpinned by a solid belief system; and investing energy and money in religion yields a return that can never be compared to any other.

  6. TZ & CO. LEADERSHIP Thabani qualified as a CA after completing his B.Comm degree and Post Graduate Diploma in Accounting from University of Natal in Durban. He trained with KPMG where he rose to a position of Supervisor. Whilst at KPMG, Thabani moved to the Training Department where he was responsible for developing and presenting training courses to all staff within the firm. Thabani joined Daimler Chrysler SA as a Financial Accountant and also responsible for the implementation of SAP within the Parts Division. He joined Unilever SA as a Management before joining Ngubane & Company as a Director responsible for Training and Development After some 15 months with Ngubane & Co, Thabani was invited to Provincial Treasury to Head the Internal Audit Division. His primary responsibilities were to give strategic direction and monitor progress of Internal Audit function, including Forensic Investigations, Risk Management Services and Governance. Thabani has been involved with a number of Boards and Audit Committees and currently serves Umngeni Water Board and the Council of Medical Schemes. Thabani Zulu CA (SA) Managing Partner

  7. Thando qualified as a Chartered Accountant (SA) after completing her B.Comm Honours degree in Accounting and an Advanced Diploma in Financial Management. She served articles in Public Practice with PricewaterhouseCoopers and outside Public Practice with Transnet Group. She possesses over 10 years’ experience in public finance management. She has held key executive positions in the financial services sector, the maritime sector as well as in education and training. She has also served as a non-executive director in various public-benefit institutions. Her innovative approach in business process re-engineering, and designing internal control systems that ensure efficient compliance with statutes, standards and policies; have proven to be her professional trademark. She is passionate about people development, SMME development and transformation. During her career break from formal employment, Thando co-founded a consulting firm, which specialised in financial management capacitation of small to medium enterprises. The practice eventually merged with Thabani Zulu & Co. in July 2012. She joined the TZ & Co. family as a Partner responsible for growing its Training Division and strengthening Client Service Management. Thando is a former chairperson of the KZN chapter of African Woman CA’s and is currently a deputy president of the SAICA Eastern Region. Lusanda is the director responsible for performance auditing at Thabani Zulu and Co. she has more 12 years experience in financial management, external auditing, internal auditing, performance auditing, risk management, strategy facilitation and development, training, project management and business consulting. • Her recently major project was the review of HIV/AIDS Programme performance audit in the KZN Province, a report which received a positive reception even by the MEC of Finance in the KZN Province. • She worked as an external auditor for Auditor-General and moved to Wildlife as an internal auditor before joining KZN Provincial Internal Audit Unit and served for four years where she was a Deputy Manager responsible for the Department of Health as major client. • Lusanda is a member of the Institute of Internal Auditors of South Africa (IIASA) and accredited as a General Internal Auditor (GIA). • She holds a Bachelor of Accounting (BACCT); Post-Graduate Diploma in Marketing Management and Certificate in Theory of Accounting (Intermediate).   9. Siyabonga Bhengu is a Director Internal Audit Services. He has spanning more than 10 years experience in the assurance and advisory services. He started his career in KZN Provincial Treasury in 2002 , where was given an opportunity for internship of six month, during the intern, in 2003, KPMG offered him a three year contract for a traineeship in internal audit. He gained extensive experience in both private and public sector as an Internal Auditor and has been responsible for a number of clients at various capacities including secondments’ within the public sector. He then joined Thabani Zulu & Co, in the beginning of 2007 as an Audit Supervisor, and then promoted to a manager six months later and Senior Manager as later. He is a member of the Institute of Internal Auditors of South Africa. He holds a Bachelor of Taxation’s Degree and National Diploma in Accounting from Durban University of Technology.   10. Lucky Reynecke is a Director of Forensic Investigations at Thabani Zulu & Co. he has more eighteen (20) years experience in the field of investigation and fraud risk advisory. He stared his career at South African Police Service and is one of the founder members of Ngubane & Co forensic division where he helped grow the practice. He is a seasoned and well known operative in the filed of investigation and fraud risk advisory. He has extensive experience in litigation support in the Special Crimes Court, Magistrate Court, High Court and Labour Courts. He is a member of the Association of Certified Fraud Practitioners (ACFE) and also a Certified Fraud Practitioners with the Institute of Certified Practitioners of South Africa. He holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree and a Higher Diploma in Education from the University of the Western Cape and a National Diploma in Policing from Technikon SA. Lucky Reynecke Director
