Red Beans and Rice In the past red beans and rice was made on Mondays. Monday was wash day. The red beans could cook on the stove while women were working hard on laundry. Now we wash our clothes and eat red beans and rice any day of the week especially during Super Bowl and at Mardi Gras parties.
