  1. Campus Science Specialist Laurie Martini Hello, I am Laurie Martini, the part time Science Support teacher  here at Northwood Hills Elementary School. I spent most of my grade-school days in Plano, but I did get to attend Yale Elementary in RISD for Kindergarten and first grade. I have very fond memories of my time at Yale. In 1984, my family moved to Plano, and I graduated from Plano Senior High School in 1995. My desire to become a teacher led me to the University of North Texas. UNT has a wonderful Education Program. As a part of the program, I was given the opportunity to student teach in RISD for an entire school year at Greenwood Hills Elementary. After completing my student teaching, I graduated from UNT in the year 2000, and I also began my career here at Northwood Hills.  I taught 3rd grade for seven years, was a math support teacher for a year, and then taught 5th grade for two years prior to my current position.  The year 2000 was a big year for me. I also married my husband, Adam, on July 1st, 2000. We are the proud parents of two sons, Jack Martini, who was born August 9, 2005, and Charlie Martini, who was born July 20, 2009.  They are both such blessings!  We also have two furry kids, really dogs, named Jeepers and Hank.  We all love spending our free time in the "great outdoors.“ I am fortunate to work at a school that has such a nurturing environment. Northwood Hills is filled with caring people who have high expectations for all of the students in our diverse population. I hope to work here for many years to come.
