  1. ASIAN INTERNATIONAL PVT. SCHOOL PO BOX 12000, RUWAIS, ABU DHABI The theme of 2020 is World day for safety and Health at work 2020- Stop the Pandemic: Safety and health at work can save lives. 28th April 2020 DISTANCE LEARNING SESSION

  2. OBJECTIVES: • Recognizing the great challenge that governments, employers, workers and whole societies are facing worldwide to combat the covid-19 pandemic, • The world day for safety and health at work will focus on addressing the outbreak of infectious diseases at work, focusing on the covid-19 pandemic.

  3. Prevention of occupational accidents and diseases • The annual World Day for Safety and Health at Work on 28 April promotes the prevention of occupational accidents and diseases globally. It is an awareness-raising campaign intended to focus international attention on the magnitude of the problem and on how promoting and creating a safety and health culture can help reduce the number of work-related deaths and injuries.

  4. Good MORNING All…. Welcome To our class Lesson 4 of the Distance Learning in PHYSICS Academic Year 2020-2021 Subject Teacher: Ms. Angelita MUTE YOUR MIC, OFF YOUR CAMERA TYPE PRESENT IN THE CHATBOX FOR ATTENDANCE UPON JOINING

  5. Physics: My identity: RESPECT

  6. Chapter 13: DEVICES TO MEASURE TIME PERIODICMOTION -is a motion which repeatsitself after fixed time intervals. -motion repeated in equal intervals of time. -bodies moves to and fro repeatedly. The principle of periodic motion is used in making clocks and watches.

  7. Starter Activity Falling stone Solar System Pendulum Clock What can you say about the GIF? Moving Car Blowing leaves and trees

  8. Chapter 13 Ms. Angelita

  9. OBJECTIVES: • Define Motion and its types, • Solve for speed, • Cite practical applications of motion in their daily lives.

  10. What is Motion? Motion is when a body changes its position with respect to its surroundings.

  11. Starter Activity Solar System Pendulum Clock Falling stone Moving Car Blowing leaves and trees

  12. What is Motion? -is when a body changes its position with respect to its surroundings. What are types of Motion? -Circular Motion -moves along a circular path about a fixed axis. -Periodic Motion -motion that repeats itself after certain intervals of time -Linear Motion - a single direction in a straight path -Random Motion – moves alternately in any direction

  13. TYPES OF MOTION Falling stone Linear motion(vertical motion) Pendulum Clock Solar System Circular Motion Periodic motion -Circular Motion -moves along a circular path about a fixed axis. -Periodic Motion -motion that repeats itself after certain intervals of time -Linear Motion - a single direction in a straight path -Random Motion – moves alternately in any direction Blowing Leaves & trees Moving Car Random Motion LINEAR MOTION(Horizontal)

  14. What is Motion? -is when a body changes its position with respect to its surroundings. What are types of Motion? When object is not changing position with respect to surroundings is said to be at rest. ex; digi board on the wall, vehicles are park, etc -Circular Motion -Periodic Motion -Linear Motion

  15. STATE OF REST AND MOTION IS RELATIVE Pendulum Clock Falling stone Solar System Linear motion(vertical motion) Circular Motion Periodic motion Blowing Leaves & trees Moving Car Which body is not considered in motion? Why? Random Motion LINEAR MOTION(Horizontal)

  16. What are the physical quantities that are measured in the moving car? SPEED-is the distance covered by a body in unit time. Speed (s)= distance covered by the body Time taken s= _d_(metre) t (second) -Time elapsed/taken by the car -Distance the car traveled Average Speed-is the total distance travelled by the body divided by the total time. Speedometer- is a device to measure the speed Odometer- is a device to measure distance

  17. 1. If an athlete takes 50 s to complete a race of 200m. Find the speed. Solve Examples Given: Time= 50s Distance = 200m Unknown: speed=? Equation: Speed (s)= distance covered by the body Time taken or s= _d_(metre) t (second) Solution: s = _d_ = 200 m = t 50s 4 m s

  18. 2. A bus covered a distance of 480 km in 8 hours and a train covered a distance of 1200 km in 10 hours. Which one is travelling faster-bus or train? Solve Examples Given: BUS; Distance = 480km ,Time= 8hours TRAIN; Distance = 1200km, Time= 10 hours Unknown: which TRAVELS Faster? Equation: Speed (s)= distance covered by the body Time taken Solution: (BUS) s = _d_ = 480 Km = t 8 h (TRAIN) s = _d_ = 1200 Km = t 10 h The train travels faster than bus. 60 km h 120 km h

  19. homework: Practice at home ASSESSMENT: • What is the speed of Rhea as she walks 1.5 km from home to school in one hour? • Jessica reaches the public park in 2 hours from home by driving her car at 60km/h. How far is her public park from home? Write in the chat box and send all at once. What is motion and give one example that you experience in your daily life.
