There are five crafty agents of erosion at work, constantly altering our landscapes without permission. These agents—Gravity, Wind, Waves, Ice (Glaciers), and Running Water—take sediment from one place and transport it to another, sometimes slowly and sometimes rapidly. Their clever disguises make them difficult to detect, but they have been shaping the Earth's surface for billions of years. Keep a keen eye on the world around you to spot the signs of their influence, because even mountains can't stand in their way!

The agents of erosion take pieces of rock and soil called sediment from where they belong and move them to other places. Without permission!
Sometimes they move the sediment very slowly, so no one will notice.
Sometimes they move a lot at once, too fast for anyone to stop them.
The five agents have very clever disguises, so pay close attention. They are . . .
GRAVITY The hardest to see.
WIND Likes to hang out in deserts.
WAVES Last seen at the beach.
ICE (a.k.a. GLACIERS) The slowest of the bunch.
RUNNING WATER The most powerful of them all.
These agents of erosion have been changing the way the surface of Earth looks for billions of years. Not even mountains can stop them!
Keep a close watch and you will find evidence of where they’ve been. You’ve been warned!
