High School Graduation Requirements* (9-12) Class of 2021 Science 3 credits (2.0 lab & 1.0 lab or non-lab) Mathematics 3 credits (through Algebra II) English 4 credits Health .5 credits (Includes Life Issues in grade 9) Fitness 1.5 credits (1.0 can be PPR*) Fine Arts 2 credits (1.0 can be PPR*) Occupational Ed. 1 credit Social Studies 3 credits World Studies – 1.0 American Studies II – 1.0 Civics.50/SS elective.50 World Language 2 credits (2.0 can be PPR*) Electives 4 credits *PPR = Personalized Pathway Requirement 24 credits must be earned in grades 9-12

High School Graduation Requirements* (9-12) Class of 2021 – PPR Process Health - .5 credits If your student deferred taking Health here are alternate ways to acquire the Health credit: Health Nutrition and Fitness Anatomy and Physiology Sport medicine 1 or 2 Child Development and Relationship Development PPR only applies to Fitness, Fine Art , and World Language Fitness 1.5 credits (1.0 can be PPR*) Fine Arts 2 credits (1.0 can be PPR*) World Language 2 credits (2.0 can be PPR*) Regardless of Pathway all students must complete .5 credit in Health, .5 credit in Fitness, and 1.0 credit in Fine Art.

Entrance Requirements for Most Public Washington Universities Science 3 years(2 of the 3 Biology, Chem, Physics) Mathematics (through Alg II) 4 years (Senior year math based quantitative course) English 4 years Foreign Language 2 -3 years*The same foreign language Social Studies 3 years Fine Arts 1 year

  7. Career Pathways • Select a Career Pathway based on your interests. You may change your pathway should your interests change. • Students who earn “B’s” or better in all pathway concentration classes can earn a pathway honor cord at graduation. • Please see Mrs. Jellison, Career Specialist at PHS for questions/paperwork.

Select required classes All Sophomore will Select An: Sophomore English Class Science Class: Biology, Pre –AP Biology, AP Biology Or Page students can take AP Biology, Pre-AP Chemistry, AP Chemistry, or AP Physics Math Class: This course was preselected by your students current teacher The last three credits your student chooses based on their pathway

Making your student’s Request matter Be sure to have your student choose their classes carefully and with the intent that they will remain in the course all year Be sure to pick alternate classes that your student will be willing to take should their first choice not be available. Reminder from March 12 until August no changes will be made to request so that we can work on the master schedule. In August we do not change schedules for teacher preferences. Schedule changes are contingent on space available in classes.

  10. Completing Your Plan • Does your plan include all of the classes required for graduation? • If you plan to attend a four-year college as a freshman, does your plan include classes that are required by most colleges? (See requirements @ www.washingtoncouncil.org)

  11. Remember... In order to participate in commencement you need to fulfill all of the graduation requirements including the High School and Beyond Plan and meet state requirements on the Smarter Balanced Exams.
