  1. SOCRATES COMENIUS 1.3 SCHOOL DEVELOPMENT PROJECT„QUALITATIVE ALTERNATIONS OF EDUCATIONAL MOVEMENT IN PROFESSIONAL SYSTEM AND EDUCATION VIA INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION” 2007-05-25

  2. PROJECT PARTNERSHIPS • Vocational schools from Lithuania, Latvia, German and Austria participate in the project. • Project coordinator - Public institution vocational centre in Kelme. • Tauragė professional training centre participate in the project as a partner.

  3. PROJECT AIM • The Project aim is to share experience about positive progress of vocational schools, to integrate cultural heritage in vocational training, to organize mobility of local communities that ensure successful growing of their cognition and ability.

  5. ACTIVITY • Taurage Professional Training Centre (Taurage PTC) is a state institution of initial and continuous vocational training that provides secondary education and vocational qualification.

  6. INITIAL VOCATIONAL TRAINING (1) About 500 pupils every year, 50 teachers. Provided qualifications: • Decorator (constructor); • Car-mechanic; • Electrical equipment maintenance worker; • Cabinetmaker; • Computer and technical management operator; • Food processing worker; • Shop – assistant;

  7. INITIAL VOCATIONAL TRAINING (2) Provided qualifications: • Trade companies trade businessman; • Secretary; • Tailor; • Small business organizer; • Joiner; • Builder; • Technical care businessman; • Cook and barman; • Cook and confectioner.

  8. ADULT TRAINING(1) 300 - 400 people per year are trained in the following areas according to the programmes of initial and continuous vocational training: • Wholesale and retail; • Book-keeping; • Secretary and office work; • Entrepreneurship; • Computer use;

  9. ADULT TRAINING(2) • Mechanics and mechanical maintenance, metal work; • Construction and woodwork; • Hotels, restaurants and catering; • Farming and foresting. • Adult training centres: • Farmer continuous education centre; • ECDL testing center; • Driving school.

  10. ADULT TRAINING CENTRES: • Farmer continuous education centre; • ECDL testing center; • Driving school.

  11. OTHER SERVICES • Dormitory of 100 beds; • Canteen of 100 seats; • Library and information centre; • Training office; • Training shop; • Training repair – shop; • Training bar.

KLAIPEDA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE, INDUSTRY AND CRAFTS (1) • Tauragė professional training centre cooperate with Klaipeda chamber of commerce, industry and crafts: • Dispute of professional training programmes; • Dispute of qualifying examination planning questions; • Ensure successful administration of qualification exams.

EDUCATION AND SCIENCE INSTITUTIONS Communication and co-operation with other schools: • Tauragė “Aušra” basic school; • Eržvilkas secondary school; • Tauragė chapter of Kaunas College; • Šilute business school of tourism and services; • Ukmergė school of technology and business; • Public institution vocational centre in Kelme; • Šilute agricultural school ; • Public institution Panevezys vocational educational centre; • Kaunas university of technology. Organize sports competition, vocational guidance, have good cultural contacts, participate in the same projects.

  15. CULTURAL INSTITUTIONS • The board of education at the Municipality of Taurage region; • Centre of assistance for teacher and student; • Pedagogical and psychological office; • Youth creative work centre; • Press; • TV.

  16. LABOUR EXCHANGE • Exercise of professional conveyance and consulting of students. • Inform about professions in great request and unoccupied work places. • Help job-seekers to employ . • Agents of Labour exchange participate in meetings and events organised by Centre.

BUSINESS AGENTS • Made contracts of co-operation with companies and organisations • Arrange meetings with agents of occupation • Organise visits to companies and organisations • Students have practical training in these companies and organisations • Agents of companies participate in qualifying examinations.

  18. LOCAL COMMUNITY • Attend in council activity of Taurage professional training centre; • Attend in organisation of cultural events; • Attend in organisation of sports.

  19. COOPERATION(1) • There are various sports competition, tournaments and friendly meetings in the Centre.

  20. COOPERATION (2) • Regional contest of rope pulling. Participators are basic and secondary schools teams, teachers of physical training.

  21. COOPERATION (3) • Regional contest of volleyball to remember the day of state independent of Lithuania.

  22. COOPERATION (4) • Regional championships of power threefight.Quests are from Mykolas Romeris University.

  23. COOPERATION (5) • Meting with military servants.

  24. COOPERATION (6) • Meeting with military of voluntary national defence.

  25. COOPERATION (7) • Samogitia land basketball contest of professional schools.

  26. COOPERATION (8) • Conference „For Lithuania not to walk away”. There were quests from different places of Lithuania.

  27. COOPERATION (9) • Students were introduced in Computer and technical management operator and secretary specialities. Ex-students are quests.

  28. COOPERATION (10) • Republican contest „The best future sekretary“ is in Kaunas Titas Masiulis youth school.

  29. PROJECT ACTIVITY • Taurage PTC community participates in the projects funded by European Union and Republic of Lithuania according to the various programmesand the measures financed by the Structural Funds.

PROJECTS (1) • Programme: Development of the Infrastructure of Education and Vocational Training, financed from the ERDF; • Project: “Modernization of Car Technical Exploitation and Wood Processing Practical Training Basis in Taurage Vocational Training Centre”. • Programme: Development of the conditions of the lifelong learning, financed from the ESF; • Project: Production School as a New Model of Vocational Training
