  1. Mark 12:28 ESV 28 And one of the scribes came up & heard them disputing with one another, & seeing that he answered them well, asked him, “Which commandment is the most important of all?”

  2. Mark 12:29-30 ESV 29 Jesus answered, “The most important is, ‘Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. 30And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart & with all your soul & with all your mind & with all your strength.’

  3. Mark 12:31 ESV 31 The second is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.”

  4. Philippians 2:3-4 ESV 3 Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. 4 Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others.

  5. Philippians 2:5-7 NASB 5 Have this attitude in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus, 6 who, although He existed in the form of God, did not regard equality with God a thing to be grasped, 7 but emptied Himself, taking the form of a bond-servant,

  6. Philippians 2:7-8 NASB and being made in the likeness of men. 8 Being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross.

  7. 1 John 3:16-18 ESV 16 By this we know love, that he laid down his life for us, & we ought to lay down our lives for the brothers. 17 But if anyone has the world's goods & sees his brother in need, yet closes his heart against him,

  8. 1 John 3:17-18 ESV how does God's love abide in him? 18 Little children, let us not love in word or talk but in deed & in truth.

  9. 1 Corinthians 9:19-20 ESV 19 For though I am free from all, I have made myself a servant to all, that I might win more of them. 20 To the Jews I became as a Jew, in order to win Jews. To those under the law I became as one under the law (though not being myself under the law) that I might win those under the law.

  10. 1 Corinthians 9:21-22 ESV 21 To those outside the law I became as one outside the law (not being outside the law of God but under the law of Christ) that I might win those outside the law. 22  To the weak I became weak, that I might win the weak.

  11. 1 Corinthians 9:22-23 ESV I have become all things to all people, that by all means I might save some. 23 I do it all for the sake of the gospel, that I may share with them in its blessings.

  12. Love is demonstrated through sacrifice

  13. Put Jesus first by giving up control of your life to Him.

  14. Put Jesus firstby giving up control of your life to Him. Put others second by giving up your rights for their needs.
