  1. Project Update for NCST Student Server • Project is to establish a web server for student use. That can be used while outside the school. Connect securely using ssh and sftp

  2. Current Status • Currently we have loaded opensuse 11.2 on the machine we are going to be using as the web server. • It has SSL configured on it as well as ssl certificates configured and running.

  3. Current Status (cont.) • We have the ssh service running. Configured it for remote access. • Performed a loopback test on the ssh to ensure it is running correctly

  4. Current Status (cont. part 2) • SSH is running which will allow users to access the web server using sftp as well. • Got appropriate hostname and ip address for use with webserver.

  5. Short Term Goals • Configure the web server to be able to be accessed by the intranet, and students to be able to access it from home as well. • Ensure that the server is secure, so that only appropriate individuals will be able to access it.
