  2. ArcPad Comprised of several parts: Map - file names like some_name.apm (like ArcMap .mdx files) Toolbars – common ones are Main, Browse & Edit Shapefiles - file names like some_name.shp (.shx & .dbf & .sbx & .sbn & .prj) Mini Applications called Applets

  3. ArcPad File Extensions to remember Map - .apm Configurations files .apx Shapefiles - .shp .shx .dbf .sbx .sbn .prj Shapefile layer definition (a form) - . apl Applets - .apa Must be in same directory

  4. ArcPad Defaults to remember Default Map (starts up automatically) - ArcPad.apm (must be in Default Maps and Data path) Default Configuration (controls Toolbars) - ArcPad.apx (must be in System path) Preferences - ArcPadPrefs.apx (must be in My Documents on the PDA or in the Lab of D:\ )

  5. Basic Information: Data for Today is G:CFLAB\ESPM3031-5031\GPS\Lab13 Copy entire Lab14 subdirectory to your D:\

  6. Start ArcPad Application Builder --- > Arcpad Studio 6.0 Open ArcPadPrefs.apx from your D:\ Examine the options on your screen

  7. Change to data = d:\lab14\cfc applets=d:\lab14\cfc system=d:\lab14\cfc

  8. Change to data = d:\lab14\nyc\maps-data applets=d:\lab14\nyc\applets system=d:\lab14\nyc\system
