  1. How to Customize QuickBooks?

  2. QuickBooks QuickBooks comes with various benefits which allow the user to carry on his accounting operations in the easiest way possible. Although there are many accounting software available in the market but with user-friendly tools, affordable price and effective reporting system, QuickBooks always stands out of the crowd.

  3. Icon Bar • You can easily improve the navigation in QB and the easiest way to do it is through customization of Icon Bar. • For customizing the Icon Bar, you have to click on “View” and then select “Customize Icon Bar”. As you will select customize the Icon Bar option, you will see a new window which will consist of all the tools required for modifying the icon bar.

  4. Chart of Accounts • You can also customize the chart of accounts in QB but you will need a bit of accounting knowledge for customizing this function. • For customizing the chart of accounts, choose Category Type from the drop-down menu of Accounts Details. • It is now important to choose correctly here because what you will choose here determines which financial statement this account will show up. Now choose a Detail type that best fits the account. • Then finally enter a Name for the account and also a brief description.After finishing everything, click on Save to exit the Account detail menu.

  5. Different Windows • For customizing the QB desktop for tracking multiple windows, you need to ‘Open Windows List after which sidebars will pop-up. Now on the left side of the screen, a new list will open which will contain different windows and then you can easily navigate through different windows.

  6. Homepage • The homepage of QuickBooks contains all the features which you use and it is very much important for your homepage to layout a logical business flow. • If you don’t see any icon or business function that will not come in your use then you can customize the homepage also,whether it is the desktop version or QuickBooks hosting version. • For customizing it, click on “Edit”, choose “Preference” and then select “Desktop View”. • Now from the “Desktop View”, choose “Company Preference” tab and then finally makes changes from this.
