  1. Earth’s Structure By Anto

  2. Lesson Objectives • Describe the structure of the Earth, i.e. core, mantle, crust. • Explain the plate tectonic theory

  3. EARTH’S STRUCTURE

  4. Earth is divided into three layers CRUST MANTLE CORE

  5. Earth's Layers

  6. Core • It is the inner layer of earth • The temperature of core is still hot. • Rocks will be in liquid state

  7. Mantle • It is the middle layer of earth • It consist of layers of Molten Rock • It has high density of tar

  8. Crust • It is the outer layer of earth • It is very thin • Pieces of earth crust is called Plates

  9. Plate Tectonic Theory By Alfred Wegener (1912)

  10. Plate tectonic theory • Alfred Wegener put forward [1912]. • 225 million years ago there was only one continent called Pangaea. • 200 million years ago they split into separate pieces. • Which drift apart and form different continents. • Continents are up on the plates. • It move due to the tectonic activity.

  11. Continental drift 225 million years ago

  12. 200 million years ago

  13. 135 million years ago
