Join us for the GVHS Sophomore Parent Night to explore essential college and career planning tools, including an introduction to NAVIANCE. Parents can sign up for NAVIANCE, access individual meetings with counselors, and gain insights into the college planning process. The evening will feature three sessions with topics such as college testing, NCAA clearinghouse, internships, and more. Share your feedback through the online survey sent via school messenger after the event. Let's work together to support our students’ futures!

A College and Career Planning Tool NAVIANCE
Parent sign up for NAVIANCE • Access the website below • https://connection.naviance.com/family-connection/auth/login/?hsid=gvhs • When you arrive at the registration page, click “I need to register” on the right side of the page • Enter your registration code (top right under your name) which you received tonight and press “register” • On the next screen enter your email address and a password you create for NAVIANCE • Check the “terms of service” box and click “complete registration” • You will be taken to your child’s NAVIANCE homepage
Counseling Curriculum/program Overview • Spring 2014 – Sophomore meetings (two options) • Individual meeting with counselor/student to review career survey/ and introduction to college planning or 2. Optional college planning meeting (parent/student/counselor) • 2014-15: Junior parent/ student night November 2014 and Junior meetings (two options) • College planning Meeting (parent/student/counselor) or • College Planning follow up/ progress check in (student/ counselor) • Senior parent/student night – September 2015 • Senior meeting (Sept – Oct, 2015) – individual meeting between student and counselor
Format For The Evening • Three session: • Session 1 – 6:50 to 7:30 • Session 2 – 7:35 to 8:15 • Session 3 – 8:20 to 9:00 • You can choose between three of the five presentations listed below ROOMTOPIC Library College testing (SAT, ACT, AP, SAT subject) : Dale Beshore, Princeton Review Room 81 NCAA / College athlete clearinghouse: Jeff Martin (session 1 and 2 only) Room 83 Internships/volunteering: Henry McCloskey, GVHS business department Auditorium Admissions Panel: Dr. Jeremy Branch – PSU, Katherine Foster – Rosemont Audion Overview of college planning process/ NAVIANCE : Chip Harvey and Anna Impriano GVHS counseling Dept
