Buddy Holly Started his career in bluegrass. He switched to rock & roll after seeing Elvis perform. He was later signed by Decca Records where he lost all input in his music. With little success he was released from his contract and was told he was not to record any of the songs or even mention them for the next five years. On his own he re-found fame. He many to bridge some of the racial divide that marked rock n roll music when he opened up for an all black audience in 1956.

Falling Outside the Power Bloc “Falling outside the power block does not mean that such an individual has no power; the power such outsiders hold is weaker power.” (Lang, 2009) Because the Dixie Chicks fell outside the power block they became much weaker, than they originally were. One comment almost caused them their entire career. The revolution of music can be used to teach students that no matter how bad things become, there is always a way to fight back. When life may seem like it has come to an end, it’s not the end, but a possibility for a new beginning.
