You ski as fast as you can but eventually you are overcome by a mass of unstable snow. You remember to click on your survival GPS safety detector beacon worn on your ski jacket before you black out and everything goes dark. Thirty seconds later you come round to find yourself buried alive in the snow. You keep calm but you are terrified. Later that evening after you have been rescued you decide to write an account of what happened, you need to record: Where you were skiing when the Avalanche happened, and a description of the area. How you felt before the avalanche. How it happened How you coped and what you did to survive being submerged for 11 minutes before being found. Write your account to describe what happened to your family who were not at the scene. Extension: You carried a back pack but it only contained a mars bar and a bottle of coke (frozen!) – from your experience create an avalanche survival pack that can fit inside a small rucksack that can be taken on trips to help others who may find themselves in your position.
