North London Collegiate School Jeju • The first international school to be opened as part of the Global • Education City on Jeju Island • NLCS Jeju will offer a curriculum based on the NLCS (UK) curriculum, • which in turn is based on the British National Curriculum • NLCS Jeju will teach the International Baccalaureate (IB) Program • as a pre-university course for 16-18 year old students • It starts September 26 ,2011!!!

Below describes a typical day for a student in the junior school 7:30 Breakfast Western Cooked Breakfast with Croissants, Fruit and Juice to drink 9:00 Period 1 English 9:35 Period 2 English 10:30 Period 3 Music 11:05 Period 4 History 11:40 Period 5 History 12:15 Lunch Break Lunch of Lamb or Quorn cutlets with mashed potato and vegetables followed by attendance at chess club to practise for an upcoming tournament 13:15 Period 6 Science 13:40 Period 7 Science 14:15 Period 8 Art & Design 14:50 End of Lessons Time for a quick snack and drink 15:00 Activities Programme A choice of taking part in Basketball or Football club 16:00 End of Activities

  8. People say that it is better to introduction the foreign schools in Korea than the outflow of foreign currency by language study abroad. However, in the mean time, don’t we make our children being far from their mother culture? What do the foreign schools, which are springing up across Korea, influence to Korean culture identity?

  9. It is true that we need English in the time of global village. But, focusing on only English before wholly understanding mother culture is wrong. Therefore, the foreign schools should encourage students education of Korean language and offer them Korean history class by Korean. Also they have to supply Korean meals more. Teaching native languages to the students from all over the world and keeping their culture identity is important as well as English eduation.
