Monitoring Structures • Coursework Assessment Sessions (CAS) – Art, D&T and F&N • Progress Reports to Parents (End of Terms 1 & 2) • Contracts fulfilled in 3 weeks (Form) • Weekly D&T Coursework Remedial Session (on Tues afternoons) • D&T Journal checks every Friday (4 days before) • No remedial for Art (lesson time)

  10. Pointers for Parents • Pupils are expected to display thorough/rigorous thinking • Coursework is not hard! (no new invention required) • Follow teacher’s guide for the standards to reach • Every part of exam is important • Coursework components - check rubrics • Written Examination (30%-40%) • Design Process / [Art] Painting & Drawing – practice skills …do • Technologies / Food & Nutrition Topics – apply content knowledge …study

Pointers for Parents • Pupils to plan & use their time well • Are they spending too much time on R&R (computer) during the week? • Are they using other curriculum time to rush their work out e.g. Friday mornings? • Pupils to show how they really work / think • Gantt chart – updated? Realistic? (not just paper exercise) • Production drawings – details cover every consideration
