ASAP implementation and some challenges There are some Challenges for Companies planning to implement globally or at more than one site : • Global business processes and data issues - Business standardization, Legal requirements. • Geography and cultural issues - Geographical spread and time-zone differences, cultural differences. • International team structure and program organization - Geographical spread and time-zone. • More complex configuration management; variations in regional IT infrastructures. Key terms one need to know about the project Key terms ,one need to know about the project (Minimum Requirement while working in Project Environment): • Project Sponsor: A senior management role that typically involves approving or supporting the allocation of resources for a venture, defining its goals and assessing the venture's eventual success. • Project Stakeholders: Project stakeholders are those entities within or outside an organization which: sponsor a project, or have an interest or a gain upon a successful completion of a project • Project Charter: The project charter is usually a short document that refers to more detailed documents such as a new offering request or a request for proposal. • Project Plan:Project Plan is a formal, approved document used to guide both project execution and project control. • Project Management Life Cycle: Is basically defined by its phases, according to which a project swims through and finally reaches to handover stage. • Project Management Deliverables: Project deliverables are the outputs got from a project that normally give a beneficial change. • Project Status: The status report of all capital projects • Project Phases: A major logical grouping of work on a project. A phase also represents the completion of a major deliverable • Milestones: A significant stage or event in the development of Project.
