  2. To Do List before Group Advising • Complete newISET Graduation Requirements Form • ISET Graduation Requirements form – www.unco.edu/iset --> Forms  ISET Graduation Requirements Form • Update your four-year plan • Check URSA account for ‘Holds’ and registration date

  3. ESL Information • ESL concentration requires • Document language background Contact lilian.cibils@unco.edu • Take PLACE Test for ESL Endorsement but not prior to student teaching

  4. Reading Minor • It is easy to add a reading minor with the following courses: • EDRD 314 (required for ISET major) • EDRD 319 (required for ISET major) • EDRD 340 • EDRD 410 (option in the language arts concentration) • EDRD 411 (prerequisite – EDRD 410) • One of the following: • COMM 223 (option for area 7 – LAC) • COMM 350 • EED 342

Important Information – CRN # • You are encouraged to check out the CRN# for classes • As an example: • Please click on the CRN number for SCED 475 • For Lab information • Valuable information for any course can be found by clicking on the CRN# for any class: • Location, days, times class meets on campus • Prerequisites • Method of instruction • Required fees, field experience hours, etc… • Notes specific to the course • Link to view the catalog entry for the course

  6. EDFE 130 Registration • Registration for EDFE 130: • Semester prior to the Student Teaching • Even if you do not presently have the required GPA (3.0), but anticipate you might

  7. PRAXIS II Scores • Print your PRAXIS II scores immediately • Score availability expires • EDFE 130 offers information to receive your PRAXIS II documentation from CDE • EDFE 130 requires proof of a passing PRAXIS II score

Student Teaching • No other courses can be taken during student teaching • Enroll in EDFE 130 semester prior to student teaching {EDEL 453/454} • Required 3.0 Cumulative GPA for placement • Passing score on PLACE or PRAXIS II for EDFE 130 • Placement request for Student Teaching is on Blackboard through EDFE 130 course

  10. Graduation Information • Conduct Grad Check after registering for Literacy Practicum {EDEL 445/446} • Registrar’s Office - Carter Hall 3002 • Call to make an appointment: 351-2231 • One-time $50 charge for Graduation application • See ISET advisor regarding any questions/concerns

  11. Summer Registration • Registration for summer 2012 begins April 2 • No PIN# required • If applicable please check with Financial Aid regarding summer funding

Be A Volunteer!Teacher Employment Days • Teacher Employment Days (TED) April 5 & 6 • More than 100 school districts from approximately 14 states will be represented • First-hand opportunity to observe the process of teacher candidate interviews • Volunteers are needed in numerous areas: • Greeting • Refreshments • Directions/information * Details will be sent via the Listserv

Group Advising • Group Advising is not required for students doing their student teaching fall 2012; however, you are welcome to sign up a session. • PTEP will register students for: EDEL 453 & 454 (Student Teaching) * Or EDEL 444 for ESL/Bilingual ** If you need to register for ET 347 please contact the ISET Office.
