  6. Biomagnification(Write this on paper!) • Concentration of pesticides increases along the food chain • Because each trophic level eats multiple “infected” organisms so it all adds up

  7. “Organic” food = No Additives Non-Organic • Fruits and Vegetables treated with pesticides (if you eat a lot of these then the pesticides build up) • Hormones given to dairy cows to produce more milk is passed along to the consumer (rBGH-treated cows have increased levels of a hormone that increases growth (IGF-1 Insulin growth factor)
