The Hazardous Materials Response Team, based at 2620 S. Collins St., is a dedicated group of volunteers certified as HazMat Technicians. With 8 personnel assigned per shift, they ensure rapid response to hazardous incidents. They undergo extensive training, including 80 hours of HazMat Technician training and specialized instructions in rescue operations and air monitoring. The team manages emergency responses to hazardous materials, conducts business inspections, and provides public education on safety. Their diverse fleet of vehicles supports their operations effectively.
