  2. CHAPTER 1 The sun was shining brightly on the brown silky sand across the Egyptian dessert. With a little breeze swaying threw the luminous green leaves grown on the palm trees. In a small cottage on the edge of scorching hot dessert Rey miserably opened the crooked door with only one hinge and walked towards the little grocery store on the other side of the road. Slowly Rey jogged up the bumpy road and walked inside the shop. “MAY I HELP YOU MATE!” “y-yes please just some of that wholegrain bread up there please” Rey slowly looked down at his 70pence in his hand. “HERE YOU ARE SOME FINE OLD BREAD,70PENCE PLEASE” Shouted the butcher.

  3. . CHAPTER 2 Rey gave him the money and went out of the shop. Then suddenly Rey tripped and fell on the sand “OUCH!!!!” shouted Rey in a little pain. Rey twitched his eyes trying to get the sand out ,by the time he had finished his eyes were as red as fire he could hardly see a thing at all he rubbed his eyes once for the final time, it was about a few seconds later he could see a bit better than before he looked back to were he had tripped and saw a sought of rock. With one hand he slowly made his hand go towards the dark stone ,it was a kind of greenish sort then as though it was imaginary Rey touched the rock it felt sort of slimy as though it was a gooey lump of melted chocolate. He decided that he would leave it until the morning and see if it had moved he wasn’t exactly 100% sure what it was.

  4. THE NEXT MORNING AT 7:00PM Rey woke up in a flash ran down the creaky stairs and went into his great grandmas room, his grandma was up all night watching television with hardly any connection “ GRANDMA IM JUST GOING OUT ON THE PATH FOR A MINUTE” “OK BUT BE SENSIBLE ITS STILL EARLY IN THE MORNING I DON’T WANT YOU TO GET HURT “WHISPERED GRANDMA in a soft voice. “I WONT THANKS” Rey quickly ran up stairs again got dressed and opened the front door excitedly AND Looked at were he had tripped and the stone was still there Rey was thinking this was very strange.

Rey picked up the stone and felt a leg of some kind underneath, he put it back on the floor and it moved then a tortoise came out Rey had never been so surprised in his life Rey quickly went inside and got some green fresh lettuce from under the table and ran back outside to were the tortoise was
