    2. Reynolds Memorial Hospital, Washim - India Was established in 1936 when medical care was available to very few Since its inception RMH has had the objective of bringing quality medical and preventive care to the doorstep of the rural poor

    3. Geographical Location It is situated in Washim, a town of considerable size in Maharashtra State of Western India. The town itself is founded in antiquity, with its roots steeped in Indian tradition, and it opens a window with glimpses of the past.

    8. Services through the Hospital In-patient care: more than 12,000 patients admitted each year 200 beds in Medical Ward Surgical Ward Pediatric Ward Obstetric & Gynecology Wards

    12. Intensive Care Unit Intensive Care Unit with ultra-modern equipment has facility for four patients

    13. Pre-Matured Baby Care Unit Pre-Matured Baby Care Unit has a capacity to care for ten babies at a time

    14. Out-Patient Department (OPD) More than 30,000 patients are treated each year in OPD A patient going through preliminary examination

    17. Diagnostics (Clinical Pathology) 50,000 investigations are done on: Semi Auto Analyzer Cell Counter and other conventional methods

    18. Blood Transfusion Blood is collected in camps the year round Supplied to other hospitals in addition to RMH patients 1,500 lives are saved through transfusions

    19. School of Nursing Began in 1948 22 students (20 girls and 2 boys) are admitted each year for a 3-year course in General Nursing and Midwifery

    20. School of Nursing Students have a "hands on" learning experience in the hospital

    21. School of Nursing Nursing students assisting in governmental school health programme

    22. School of Nursing The students serve in the hospital and CBHC projects for two years after graduation

    23. College of Nursing A new College of Nursing offering a B.A. course was inaugurated in November 2006.

    27. CBHC Training VHWs On completion of the training each VHW is able to Identify high risk pregnancies and diseases and refer such cases Conduct normal deliveries at home Treat minor ailments

    28. CBHC Training VHWs On completion of the training each VHW is able to Assist CBHC team members to conduct Mother and Child Health Clinics Provide nutritional education Do home visits

    30. CBHC Saving Children Immunization of a child at the farm where her parents work as labourers

    31. CBHC Empowering Women Income Generation Projects for women of villages Garment making

    34. CBHC Nutritional Rehabilitation Malnourished children under five years of age are identified by the hospital team and then brought to the centers for six to eight weeks along with their mothers.

    35. CBHC Nutritional Rehabilitation The mothers of such children are taught about the nutritious values of food available in their villages and also are advised on the correct ways of cooking.

    36. CBHC Nutritional Rehabilitation Within two months more muscle mass develops and healthy hair replaces coarse sparse hair This child's weight increased to more than 12 pounds and he started walking!

    47. NEEDS CBHC in South Asia Expansion of CBHC in Washim and Chikhli areas To establish CBHC in all Nazarene districts in South Asia Grants and Foundations

    48. NEEDS HIV/AIDS HIV/AIDS Care Counselling Centres in all CBHC Projects in South Asia Specialized Training to be provided by RMH

    49. NEEDS Disaster Management To provide relief during natural disasters To rehabilitate the communities after the initial relief
