  5. ANAC’sMission Statement …to promote the individual and collective professional development of nurses involved in the delivery of care to persons infected and affected by the Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV)……..

  6. ANAC’sMission Statement (cont’d) ….to promote the health and welfare of infected persons by: • creating an effective network among nurses in AIDS care • studying, researching and exchanging information, experiences, and ideas leading to improved care for persons with HIV/AIDS infection

ANAC’sMission Statement (cont’d) ….to promote the health and welfare of infected persons by: • providing leadership to the nursing community in matters related to HIV/AIDS infection • advocating for HIV infected persons • promoting social awareness concerning issues related to HIV/AIDS infection

  13. Reporting Deadlines: • September Nominations & Ballots prepared • October Chapter Elections • To allow completion and submission of Leadership List

  14. Reporting Deadlines: • November 1 Leadership List due • To update website and chapter leader contact information by year end • If contact info changes, let Chapter Chair or liaison know

  15. Reporting Deadlines: • January 31 Annual Chapter Reports due • Self Assessment • Lobbying & Authorization Statements • ( Chapter FEIN# + President Name + Chapter Name) • Treasurer Report** • Bank statement – year end**

  16. Reporting Deadlines:Annual Chapter Financial Reports • **Allows National to comply with April 15th. tax reporting deadlines • Failure to submit reports may impose hefty fines on individual chapter by IRS • Responsibility of outgoing President

  17. Reporting Deadlines: **New Reporting Requirement**due to Change in Tax laws(savings, checking) • Submission of individual chapter annual bank account totals • To submit for 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009 • Will be added to Treasurers Report

  19. Reporting Deadlines: • March 1 – Late reminder to Chapter Presidents for incomplete reports • April 1 – Recommendation of Chapter Charter revocation Letter sent to chapter members

  20. Reporting Deadlines: • June 15 – Chapter Recognition Award submission deadline Eligibility: - Met all reporting deadlines for 2 consecutive years

  24. 2008 Reporting Stats: • Reports very slow to come in • 6/44 (13%)Chapters submitted ALL reports by deadlines and eligible for chapter award • 5/44 (11%)chapters still not completed all submissions

  25. 2008 Reporting Stats: Leadership lists ( 44 chapters) • 20/44 (45%)received by Nov.1st. deadline (10/29/08 -11/1/08) • 21/44 (47%) received between Nov. 23rd. and April 30th.

  26. 2008 Reporting Stats: Self Assessment Reports ( 44 Chapters) • 16/44 (36%) received by Jan. 31st. 2009 deadline (10/26/08 – 1/30/09) • 24/44 (54%) received between Feb 2nd. and May 24th.

  27. 2008 Reporting Stats: Treasurers Reports ( 44 Chapters) • 18/44 (41%)received by Jan.31st. 2009 deadline (10/26/08 – 1/31/09) • 20/44 (45%)received between Feb 2nd and May 1st.

  28. 2009 Reporting Stats: Leadership Lists (41 Chapters) • 8/41(19%) received by Nov.1st. deadline (10/29/09 -10/30/09) • 11/41(26%) received between Nov. 2nd. & Nov 18th. • 22/41(53%) still not submitted

  30. Chapter By-Laws: Proposed Changes Re: Article III: Membership Section 2: Qualifications and Privileges Item C: Associate Members • Request by Rhode Island to allow student (Associate members) to hold elected office, vote and serve on local committees at local chapter level

  31. Chapter By-Laws:Rationale • Significant disparity in allowing affiliate members( non-nurses) these privileges • Need to allow all chapters the same opportunity, therefore requires change in sample chapter bylaws

  32. Chapter By-Laws:Next Steps: • Consensus at this meeting • Present to ANAC BOD in January • If approved, changes will be made to Sample Chapter Bylaws • Chapters will have the option to change their bylaws using the approved process.
