  2. What is it? • Google Product Search, formerly known as Froogle • A price comparison search • The interface provides an HTML form field, much like Google’s homepage, into which a user can type product queries to return lists of vendors selling a particular product, as well as pricing info.

  3. Search produces results with prices and pictures • Can sort results by relevance, price, etc.

  4. Google Product Search is different from most other price comparison services because it neither charges any fees for listings, nor accepts payment for products to show up first • Makes no commission on sales • Google sells advertising through AdWords to be displayed in Product Search results next to the unpaid results

  5. There is a new uploading option that enables merchants to submit info to Google Product Search using existing data feeds they have prepared for other shopping engines • Also offered in WML (Wireless Markup Lang) and can be accessed from mobile phones or other wireless devices that support WML

  6. A magazine that is a tangent of the Wall Street journal • Published by Dow Jones since 1921, who also publishes WSJ • Delivers vital stats, in-depth analysis, investigative reporting, company profiles, and everything else there is to know to keep tabs on the investment world • Gives an accurate understanding of what happened in the markets last week and what’s likely to happen in the week ahead. • From online version can get little snippets of info. but if you want full story you must subscribe online or in print • Has 4 sections: Technology Week, Market Week, Mutual Funds, and The Wrap • Features noted investors such as Bill Gross

Wall Street Journal (WSJ) • An English-language daily newspaper published by Dow Jones & Comp. in New York City • Gives expert insight on the market and economy and how both can impact your everyday finances and personal investments • Gives expanded coverage of major global stories, political events, medical breakthroughs, and emerging technologies • Offers other areas of interest than economy such as: food & wine, travel, real estate, the arts, and weekend getaways • To subscribe in print it is $8.25 a month plus 4 weeks free • Online version launched in 1996 - costs $119 • As of 2007, WSJ has a worldwide circulation of more than 2 million, with approx. 931,00 paying online subscribers

  9. Google Docs and Spreadsheets • This application allows you to create basic documents from scratch or start from a template (ex: bulleted lists, columns, tables, image comments, etc.)

Can upload existing files in the forms: DOC, XLS, ODT, ODS, RTF, CSV, PPT) • Can share your document with others who can view and edit it once you have invited them by email • Many people can view and make changes to a doc at the same time and there’s an onscreen chat window • Sorts, saves, and organizes documents easily • You control who sees your documents: can post them like a web page, or publish to a few people, or just keep them to yourself

Page Creator • A free online tool that makes it easy for anyone to create and publish useful, attractive web pages • Don’t need technical knowledge to use it - made easy to use for the everyday person • Can edit pages right in your browser, so you can see how the finished product will look every step of the way

  12. It is still new and is in the testing stage • To use this application, just log in with your gmail account • Is now changing to Google Sites

  13. Google Calendar • Its free, just need a google account to use it • An easy way to keep track of all life’s important events in one place • Can add events, send invitations, share schedules with friends and family, and search events you might enjoy

  14. Can create multiple calendars and customize them with colors, etc. • Can be reminded of events through email, popup window or text messages directly to your cell phone • Share with no one, friends, or the world

  16. It’s free, how does Google benefit? • Each time callers request a phone #, they are giving Google valuable info - each call provides voice data representing unique variation, that Google uses to improve its service • Service designed to build Google’s own speech database

Google Finance • Launched March 21, 2008 • This service features business and enterprise headlines for many corporations including their financial decisions and major news events • Stock information is available • No advertising on this page • The homepage allows users to see currency information, sector performance for U.S. market, a listing of top market movers, and relevant important news of the day • Sections on page: Market Summary, Top Stories, Recent Quotes, Charts, Sector Summaries, and Trends

NASDAQ and the New York Stock Exchange partnered with Google in June 2008 to bring real time ticker updates of stocks • To participate in Google Finance, need a Google account, and then create a portfolio in finance • Can personalize and edit your own portfolio • Can discuss stocks with others through Google Discussion • Aggregates Google News and Google Blog search articles about each corporation • Features • Get automatic emails when there is news about a company that interests you • Download prices, transactions, and other information into a spreadsheet
