  3. The Definition of a Verb The King says: The definition of a verb is a word that expresses action or a state of being.

  4. Action Verb The hiker, hiked to the peak of the mountain. KEY PIONT! The definition of an action verb is a verb that expresses either physical or mental activity

  5. Linking Verbs A radio station can be the voice of a community. The definition of a linking verb is a verb that expresses a state of being. A liking verb connects, or links, the subject to a word or a word group that identifies or describes the subject.

  6. Helping Verbs The definition of a helping verb is a: verb that helps the main verb that expresses action or a state of being. You might think this is a hotel, but it is the biggest house in the world. It is owned by the king of the United Emirates.

  7. Main Verbs The definition of a main verb is the main verb in a sentence. The cat ate the fish.
