  27. E-mail Statistics • Over 4.5 million students have provided e-mail addresses • Since Jan. 1, 2002 • 4.7 million PIN e-mails sent • 6.3 million SAR e-mails sent • With addition of new field to 2003-04 paper FAFSA, number of PIN and SAR e-mails will increase dramatically Session 5 -

Corrections on the WebReal-time Corrections • In 2003-04, some students eligible for real-time Corrections on the Web • What is a “real-time” correction? • Student transmits correction via the Web • CPS instantaneously checks to see if database matches, other than NSLDS, are necessary • If no non-NSLDS match required, CPS immediately: • Applies system edits • Calculates official EFC • Transmits results to student • ISIR sent to school the next day • NSLDS postscreening conducted in no more than one week and, if necessary, results transmitted to school and applicant Session 5 -

  31. What Will Schools See? It doesn’t matter what type of form the student used or whether they provided an e-mail address or not…the schools always gets the same kind of output… the ISIR. Session 5 -
