This report addresses the treatment of breast cancer, focusing on surgical interventions. Utilizing the GuideLine Interchange Format (GLIF) 3.5, we present a structured representation of clinical guidelines that is precise, non-ambiguous, and human-readable. The GLIF specification consists of three levels: Level A (abstract flowchart), Level B (computable representation), and Level C (integration into applications). While we successfully modeled surgery at Level B using Arden, improvements are needed to handle uncertainties. Future enhancements plan to make these guidelines accessible on a shared server, ensuring their adaptability and longevity.

Introduction • Problem: • breast cancer • Treatment: • surgical • Using following syntax: • GLIF 3.5 • Arden.
Breast Cancer • Cells divide and reproduce abnormally without control • Well documented
GLIF (GuideLine Interchange Format) • specification for structured representation of guidelines • The objective of the GLIF specification : • Precise • Non-ambiguous • Human-readable • Independent of computing platforms
GLIF (GuideLine Interchange Format) • The process are modeled in 3 levels : • Level A : abstract flowchart • Level B : computable representation • Level C : integration into application environments
Arden • We also represented the level B surgery using Arden. • See the report
Conclusion • Glif needs improvement • Need to handle uncertainty • They plan to make it available on a shared server • We think it has a future.
