  1. What is the Nature of God ? September 7 What is the Nature of Man ? September 14 What is the Goal of Life ? September 21 Progressive Sanctification

  2. Goal of Life Isaiah 43:7 7everyone who is called by my name, whom I created for my glory, whom I formed and made.” Romans 15:6 6that together you may with one voice glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. 1 Cor 10:31 31So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God. 2 Cor 5:9 9So whether we are at home or away, we make it our aim to please him.

  3. Goal of Life Philippians 2:13 13for it is God who works in you, both to will and to work for his good pleasure. Col 1:18 18And he is the head of the body, the church. He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in everything he might be preeminent. 2 Thes 1:11-12 11To this end we always pray for you, that our God may make you worthy of his calling and may fulfill every resolve for good and every work of faith by his power, 12so that the name of our Lord Jesus may be glorified in you, and you in him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.

  4. Goal of Life 1 Peter 4:11 11whoever speaks, as one who speaks oracles of God; whoever serves, as one who serves by the strength that God supplies—in order that in everything God may be glorified through Jesus Christ. To him belong glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen. Rev 4:11 11“Worthy are you, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they existed and were created.”

  5. Goal of Life Glorify - to make glorious by bestowing honor, praise, or admiration b: to elevate to celestial glory

  6. Goal of Life Why is the theme of “Glorify” repeated so many times in Scripture? So we don’t miss it It’s Foundational It’s an area of major struggle

  7. Goal of Life If glorifying God is our goal in life, then what should our response be ? Submission – doing what God wants Not fighting for our own way, but doing it God’s way This is at the root of so many of our life problems (sin).

  8. Goal of Life Psalm 19:9-11 9the fear of the Lord is clean, enduring forever; the rules of the Lord are true, and righteous altogether. 10More to be desired are they than gold, even much fine gold; sweeter also than honey and drippings of the honeycomb. 11Moreover, by them is your servant warned; in keeping them there is great reward. We function best when we do the things we were designed to do.

  11. Matt 7:1-5 1“Judge not, that you be not judged. 2 For with the judgment you pronounce you will be judged, and with the measure you use it will be measured to you. 3 Why do you see the speck that is in your brother's eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? 4 Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when there is the log in your own eye? 5 You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother's eye. Where does God want you to start in bringing glory to Him.
