  8. Michigan ranks ninth in the U.S. in terms of farmland threatened by development

  9. More than half of our farmers are over the age of 57

  10. Economic threats to local agriculture keep small farms struggling and discourage new farms. Without a sustainable market of fair prices and wages, small local farms may soon be a thing of the past
