Position Paper • Basic structure- 3 body paragraphs • First body • Background of topic and country’s involvement • Addresses stance and policies • Second body • Current status • Problems • What is the country doing now • Quotes/data/analysis • Other countries (allies/opposing) • Third body • Solution/conclusion • What will/should the country do and why • What programs should be created/eliminated/fixed

  5. Opening Speech • Speech that notifies the committee which topic you would like to address first • Topic A v. Topic B • Based off of your position paper you can • Highlight importance to country • Create priority • Global importance • Brief 30-1 min 30 seconds
