General Assemblies and Specialized • The heart and soul of MUN • GAs: Often made up of real UN committees, very large • DISEC, ECOFIN, SOCHUM, SPECPOL, Legal • Specialized: Wide variety of governing bodies and other leaders of organizations. Medium to Small in size. • Committees designed to solve a wide reaching problem through joint documents known as resolutions. • Debate and teamwork heavy
Crisis • Committee as a collection of leaders running a shared organization to achieve something or solve problems. • Cabinet of a country • Board of trustees • Rebel leaders in a revolution • Committee is consistently updated through drops • Committees undertake actions through mini-resolutions called directives • Personal actions can be taken through notes • Still a lot of debate • Smaller committees, usually representing people and not whole countries
