  10. Parents, The most important thing you can do to help your child in reading is to sit beside him/her , look at the book and listen to it being read.At the beginning of 1st grade students should be reading Level 4 books but must read a Level16 by the end of 1st grade.

  11. Students are taught skills at school for getting words they don't know, such as: 1. Get your lips ready. 2. Sound it out. C---a---t 3. Find the part you know. 4. Skip the word, reread the sentence and see what makes sense.

  12. Good job. You are listening to your child read. Students should be reading their book bag books every night. After reading, ask questions. If the book is lost or is damaged, it will cost $5.00.

  15. Examples of why clips are moved • For hitting, kicking, etc. • Students talk when instructions are being given. • For being out of seat instead of raising his/her hand • Playing in the desk • Not following instructions.

  16. If you forget to follow the rules, You move your clip.If you move your clip again, you may have to miss your APP time (additional play period)
