  2. Summary: • The Adventures of Tom Sawyer takes place in St. Petersburg, Missouri in the 1840’s. There is Tom, the main character, who is persuasive and mischievous. Huckleberry Finn, well you can’t really explain Huckleberry. He skips school, avoids work, and doesn’t really care about anyone. And of course, the lovely Miss Becky Thatcher. Tom’s love. And then, there’s Injun Joe. The murderer. The over all plot is that Injun Joe murders Dr. Robinson in the grave yard but frames Muff Potter who was also in the grave yard, drunk, but had nothing to do with the murder. When Tom, Huck, and Joe explain what had really happened, Injun Joe runs away before anyone can arrest him. But during the McDougal’s Cave Adventure, Tom and Becky get lost and run into Injun Joe. Injun Joe then had an ‘’accident’’ and Tom and Becky bring back the treasure that Injun Joe stole at Jackson’s Island.
