  1. Media Studies Storyboard for Drink Driving Documentary. George Killeen James Richards Matteo Moruzzi-lee

  2. This scene will start with the crash and will be re-wound back to the pub where the driver is considering whether or not to have a drink. -Point of view shots of driver driving. Re-wound backwards. -2 shot with the barman, so we see conversation.- Mid shots, close ups where we see pint in his hand. Non – diagetic, narrated over by person who was in the accent describing the incident.- Ambulance sirens

  3. Following the reconstruction scene a blank screen will appear with facts about drink driving from sources such as DVLA DSA and the government. The idea will be to hit viewers by providing them with solid facts so it sticks in their head. . During this clip we will not be using camera shots. Instead, it will involve still frames of facts with wipes and fades to create time and distance between the facts. Facts will be short, sharp and hard hitting to reinforce the seriousness of this situation. Soft non-digetic music whilst facts are narrated over.

  4. Various camera shots will be used during the interview. First a tripod will be set up to show a two-shot of the interviewer and the police officer. We will also use the rule of thirds shot to create a looking room. Mixed with over the shoulder shots of the interviewer talking and point of view shots of the interviewer looking at the police officer while he talks. Digetic sounds of interviewer and police officer. Interview takes place. We will discuss the procedure a police officer goes through when someone has been caught. Past experiences. What’s been done to prevent it.

  5. Bright lighting, to cast a shadow figure of the offender onto a projector to create offenders silhouette. Point of view shot from the interviewer. Over the shoulder for the offender so identity is not given. Flashback: Blurred point of view shot of male attempting to get into car. Here we will be interviewing/ talking to someone who commits the offence but hasn’t been caught, we will be asking him why he does it and why he thinks it is ok. We will also ask what he would do if he got caught and if he is aware of the convictions he could face. The seriousness of what could happen and its implications to others. A short flashback of the occasion. Once again diagetic sound. Conversation between interviewer and Offender.

  6. Shot reverse shot from interviewer to victim. Reconstruct a nightmare, Long shot of him crossing road, switch to point of view shot from car speeding at him while he stands in the road. Flashback of daughter at hospital bed. Soft non-diagetic music in the background, as well as diagetic conversation between the victim and interviewer. Here we will be showing a conversation of someone who has been effected by drink driving, losing a loved one for example. Also, why they would never do it and the pain and tragedy it causes families. A nightmare or flashback of what he experiences now, to show the after effects.

  7. Point of view shot from the interviewer. Over the shoulder for the offender. Two shot of both interviewer and offender in discussion of why he does it. Flashback of being caught, point of view shot from police officer, tilt down to show authority and show weakness of the offender. Blurred point of view shot from driver. Teenager/ Young man who has recently been caught drink driving. Fine he had to pay, criminal record, procedure and everything that happened that night. Flashback of him getting caught. “If you would like to step out the car and remove your keys please sir”. • Non digetic sounds: • -Police sirens . • -Police radio. • Diagetic sound: • Conversation and cars passing. • Radio in car.
