Supporting Climate and Weather Research: Overview of NCAR's Research Data Archive Services

Established in the 1960s, NCAR's Research Data Archive (RDA) supports climate and weather research through a vast collection of over 600 datasets and more than 4 million files, totaling around 600 TB. RDA provides essential services worldwide, including automated data access and assistance for users. It features diverse data types, including meteorological, oceanographic observations, and remote sensing. With robust infrastructure for storage, backup, and disaster recovery, RDA ensures reliable access for its 6,440 unique users, delivering exceptional support for climate research activities.
