Welcome to Central! The Department of World Languages is excited to guide you in selecting your classes for freshman year. Offerings include English, Math, Science, and World Languages such as French, Spanish, German, or Chinese. Studying a language for four years can earn you college credit, meet college admission requirements, and enhance your job prospects by making you stand out. Selecting Classes for your Freshman Year 5 Major Classes: English Math Science French, Spanish, German or Chinese Social Studies Most college bound students begin to study a second language their freshman year.
Why study a World Language for 4 years… • Earn college credit • Some colleges require 4 years for admission • Some college require 4 years of high school language or the college equivalent to earn a college degree • The ability to speak another language sets you apart from other job applicants!
Unique Opportunities Dual Credit Spanish IV * Earn 8 college credits if you earn a C or better in this course! AP French, AP German, AP Spanish * Earn 4-16 credits in college if you earn a 4 or 5 on the AP test!
