Connecting the dots Additional Support for Learning • All children need support to help them learn, some more than others. • Additional Support is: ‘provision which is additional to, or otherwise different from, the educational provision made generally for children’ (ASL Act-Section 1(3)) • Assessment , identification and support based on individual need.

  4. Connecting the dots • Getting it Right for Every Child Ensuring all children are : • Safe • Healthy • Achieving • Nurtured • Active • Respected and responsible • Included Getting the right support , to the right child at the right time.

Connecting the dots Curriculum for Excellence Every Child has the right to become a • successful learner • Confident individual • Effective contributor • Responsible citizen wherever learning takes place Every child entitled to a broad general education which develops their personality reflecting the ways different learners progress. Every one has a responsibility for cross cutting themes of numeracy, literacy, health and wellbeing
