  2. Introduction to the Lost Generation Fueled by young people following WWI Occurred during the 1920’s Important players: Ernest Hemingway, F. Scott Fitzgerald, Ezra Pound, Sherwood Anderson, Waldo Peirce, John Dos Passos, John Steinbeck,Erich Maria Remarque and Cole Porter.

  5. Ernest Hemingway Born in Chicago, Illinois on July 21, 1899. One of 6 children, father doctor American writer and journalist Nobel and Pulitzer Prize recipient 10 novels, 10 collections of short stories, and 5 non-fiction (three autobiographical)

  6. Hemingway cont. Journalist at the Kansas City Star Ambulance drive in Italy during WWI Married 4 times Reported on events of WWII Spent most of his time writing American Literature from abroad.

  7. Hemingway cont. Died July 2, 1961 in Idaho. Committed suicide like his father, sister and brother. May have had a genetic disorder passed down by his father that affected his mental and physical wellbeing.
