The European Commission, comprised of 28 commissioners nominated from each EU country, serves a critical role in representing EU interests. Each commissioner is selected for a 5-year term, responsible for submitting proposals and overseeing their implementation with the Council of Ministers and the European Parliament. The European Parliament is made up of 766 members, directly elected by EU voters, who represent the citizens of the EU. The EU Council consists of government ministers from each member state, working closely with the Parliament to decide on proposals from the Commission.
