  4. Procedures for Late Arrivals, Early Departures, Sickness If late: Your child needs to go to the office to get a late pass before going to the classroom Early Departures: If you are picking your child up before school officially ends, please call at the office to sign an early departure form and to get a yellow card to give to the teacher. This is so teachers know the child has been signed out. Sickness: We would appreciate a phone call to the school to let us know if your child is ill. A written note explaining the absence is always required even if you have phoned and these can be found at the back of the diary. Parent Information Evening 2014

  10. Reading We want your child to be successful and enjoy the home reading program. Take home books The readers that your child bring home from school should always be easy. This is the chance for them to work on their phrasing and fluency so the reading sounds like talking. It is also a chance for them to give a retell of the story and answer some questions about the book. At school the children will work on reading material that is more challenging. 11. Excursions We believe that excursion experiences and primary resources are very important provocations for the inquiry process. We also encourage the children to bring along artifacts and books that fit in with our Units of Inquiry. If your child takes action related to our inquiries at home please let us know.
