  1. Year 11 Information Evening 2014 On results day I have never heard a student say I did too much revision. However, I have heard numerous students say they hadn't done enough

  2. Our aims this Evening… • Year 11 last day • Key dates for Year 11 Leavers • External examination regulations • Internal revision structure • Information about the support available for students with revision through PHSE • At home revision

  3. Last of Year 11- 9th May 2014 • Students must be in normal uniform BEFORE REGISTRATION. • They must bring a spare shirt with them for people to sign. It must not be the one they are wearing. • They will have lots of time to see their friends, take photos etc. but they must attend the activities put on for them. • NO eggs, flour, spray cans, silly string etc. • Kinver Edge If students fail to follow these rules they will be sent home

  4. Any student who disrupts the education of the other students over the remaining few weeks will be asked to study at home. They will not be invited to the revision sessions run by staff. They will not be included in the last day or allowed to attend the Prom.This could effect their overall results.

  9. SAM Learning www.samlearning.com • All students have a private work area on an online package called SAM learning. • Activities from this package can be used to support revision. • All students know how to access (details in planner), if you would like more details please contact us

  10. Creating a Revision Timetable www.getrevising.co.uk Students should create a plan of revision and aim to stick to it 90% of the time. A visual plan is easier to work to. This should be well underway by the end of this month. If students are away over Easter or May half-term revision does need to go with them!

  11. What does successful Revision look like? Before 9th May 3 nights of revision per week & either Saturday or Sunday Rest breaks are built in. 2 x 60 minute slots of revision per evening covering a variety of topics and subjects. A suitable area, away from the daily distractions of FaceBook etc.!

  12. What does successful Revision look like? After 9th May It is run as an ‘ordinary’ structured school day. Rest breaks are built in. 4 x 60 minute slots of revision per day covering a variety of topics and subjects.(This may include in school revision sessions)

  13. Aids to Revision • Mind maps • Post it notes around the house. Bathroom and Kitchen are good places. Move them round after a few days. • Computer websites e.g. SAM Learning • Revision guides. (many can be bought in school, check you purchase the right exam board) • Exam questions / past papers • Flash cards • Learning Styles (reference: booklet)

Key Revision sessions • History: Mr Davies Every Monday lunchtime revision sessions will be run up until the examinations • DT Every Wednesday up until Easter there is GCSE 3:30-4:30Every Thursday there is coursework catch-up running until Easter. 3:30 - 5:003 Saturdays DT practical work  9am -12pm:15/03/1429/03/1405/04/14 • Maths Mr Jones revision set 11.2 on a Wednesday after school 3:45 to 5:00, • Maths Mrs Pickford Revision sessions for Mrs Pickford's classes:11 Fast Track - Thursdays 3.30pm - 4.30pm • MathsMr Lee Tuesday and Friday after school A mock exam will take place next Weds to determine tier of entry for some students and for the fast track group. • 11 Boys - Fridays 3.30pm - 4.30pm • Geography Thursday lunchtime revision with Mrs Hinton-Bowen. • ICT CIDA Coursework deadline for Y11 is 10th April 2014. • EnglishMr Walker Revision – every Friday lunchtime and Ms Parker every Tuesday lunchtime
